Montauk is a special place. If you’ve been here, you know. If you haven’t, you may have heard of it. Just past the Hamptons, on the eastern tip of Long Island, lies a small town that I call home. Montauk is high hills, dramatic cliffs, roaring ocean, quiet bays, endless beaches, impressive nightlife, plenty of restaurants, tons of nature trails, world class fishing, a big surf community, and all in all, a magical place. I could go on and on.
But don’t take my word for it. Do your own research. Whether you are a group of friends looking to relax, enjoy the beach, and chill for a week or two, or you are a family looking to have an incredible summer adventure, Montauk can be the vacation of a lifetime. Many people come back year after year. Within driving distance from at least 15 states, and easily reachable from NYC, we are just around the corner for many.
I manage three rental properties in Montauk, my own house, my sister’s place, and my dad’s cottage. My cousin and best friend has one too. Set back from the street, this corner lot property holds a quaint 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom house with a cozy fireplace and outdoor shower. #3 The Luv Shack

Spend your summer at South Lake! This one bedroom, one bath cottage has everything you need for an incredible summer getaway. It’s location cannot be beat. South Lake beach is right out your door. A popular place for Stand Up Paddle boarding, incredible sunsets over the lake & a great beach for small children, you won’t find yourself fighting over a parking spot because you are just steps away.
Walk over to the Crow’s Nest for drinks or dinner. Ride your bike or drive to Ditch Plains. It’s only a three minute bike ride. An outside shower offers options for cleaning off after the beach and a pergola sits in the yard with a dining table underneath. There’s even a patio with a ping pong table.
Inside, the decor is simple & classic. Wide plank hardwood floors throughout, with white wainscoting & a tranquil grey on the walls. The kitchen is fully stocked & you will find a washer and dryer hidden away in the living room closet. The bedroom has a queen bed & closet, with a dresser and reading nook. The couch in the living room folds down to become a queen bed, so the house can sleep four guests. This is the perfect getaway for a couple, small family, or a group of friends to enjoy Montauk. There’s also plenty of storage if you’re spending the entire summer or for an extended winter stay.
Owner Noel Arikian is a local craftsman and artist who can give you excellent advice on restaurants & things to do. He is a wealth of knowledge about Montauk and everything wonderful it has to offer.

Renting in summers has been so rewarding for all of us. It has many benefits. In most cases, it is the only way we afford our homes. But the people we meet and connect with use our house as a home base for their vacation. These families are making memories in the homes we designed + created. The gratitude they express to us for sharing our home with them is really meaningful, and we do everything we can to make sure they are super comfortable + have everything they need for a fantastic stay away from home. In addition to that, some of us have had particularly good summers once in a while, which allows us to continue making improvements to our houses, which in turn, makes our homes even better places to stay for our repeat guests! Sometimes, a particularly fruitful season can enrich our lives in other ways. My one friend was able to finish off her basement AND buy a travel trailer at the end of last rental season!
If you have ever considered renting out your home, or renting just one room (we’ve done both) I highly recommend it. If you have any doubts, I would start with Airbnb. VRBO, the other most popular platform, charges a $500 fee up front for the year, so it’s not something you should do if you are unsure. Airbnb, however, lets you create your listing + post it to their website for free. They do take a cut of each rental you get, but if you’re just starting out, it’s a nice way to only pay a small percentage of what you earn. Click here to set up your profile.
